From what I am observing the lockdown is not designed well and primarily is hurting small businesses. For example small retailers were shut but people can still go to Walmart. Also a lot of socializing has just moved from restaurants to peoples homes. For example seduction and pure closed but a lot of the girls are still working and seeing customers but there arn’t the same level of safety measures as Pure had where they temperature checked all the girls and customers. In addition a large part of the problem is retirement homes/Long Term Care facilities which are in crisis. In my opinion the government would have been better to keep things open with reduced capacity limits and increased safety measures such as temperature checking all clients and at the same time increased staffing at retirement homes. This I think would have been a better strategy then what we have now.

Yeah. The car plants were shut down for a while during the first wave. The government wants to keep the economy moving. They've already lost enough money as it is. Also, I can understand the frustration in having small business shutting while places like Walmart can stay open. It doesn't make sense. I think they're acting cowardly, because it's easier to shut down a business that has only a few employees instead of a business that has a few hundred employees. The government doesn't want a major uproar from a massive group of people from Walmart.
