Police say five massage parlors lost their business licenses due to several allegations of criminal sexual activity and possible sex trafficking.
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — The Coeur d’Alene Police Department said on Wednesday it is investigating multiple massage parlors based on allegations of illegal sexual activity and sex trafficking.
CDAPD says detectives are investigating after receiving reports of unwanted sexual touching. CDAPD says due to the nature of these crimes, prosecution is challenging and criminal charges were declined by local prosecutors.
However, the police department says due to the nature and volume of the allegations, the city revoked the business licenses at the following five parlors: Oriental Massage Spa, Red Sea Massage, Oriental Body Work, Asia Massage, and Chinese Massage.
Detectives say that based on reports, there are also concerns some of the employees of the massage parlors may be victims of sex trafficking.
The police department says it is dedicated to criminally charging any business owner, employee, or patron involved in criminal sexual activity.
Anyone with information about sexual activity at any of the above-mentioned businesses is encouraged to contact Coeur d’Alene Police Detective Newbill at 208-292-5778.
