Ticos discuss Zona Blue

My Spanish is good enough to get the gist of what they are saying, but not good enough to translate well. But for the Spanglophones and anyone who cares to translate, I thought it would be interesting. Here are the comments:


Gente alguien sabe como esta el asunto en ZONA BLUE alla por el INVU en Sn Jose? como andan las chavalas y si estan dejando entrar ticos? y de que hora a que hora estan atendiendo y que dias lo hace? y mas importante cuanta plata $$$?

Estimados colegas, Zona Blue es un club totalmente enfocado para extranjeros, donde realmente los maes la pasan super bien, es un destino obligatorio para los que vienen a buscar mujeres, y ademas las chicas que trabajan ahi se caracterizan por ser muy amables con ellos y cumplir todas sus fantasias, por ejemplos trios, otros. El lugar en si es muy bonito, donde se respira un ambiente de glamour, los tragos son caros, uno puede tomarse unas birras en una barra y ver las chicas, pero la verdad es que nunca he visto mas de 12 clientes al mismo tiempo, es exclusivo. Hay mujeres bonitas, donde sobresale una macha que se llama Pamela, que segun mi criterio puede ser la Superstar massage girl, por lo que he leido, nunca me he atendido con ella, pero es muy famosa por sus servicios. El precio es de 17k media hora y 23k media, hora sin embargo puede ser que los hayan incrementado un poco. Una birra cuesta como 2300. Si lo quieren visitar les recomiendo que no vayan en grupos de mas de 3 personas, y vistanse como si fueran a un restaurante en Real Intercontinental. El lugar tiene su magia, pero la verdad es hecho para dar servicios a extranjeros.

La verdad, la verdad, la verdad.... mejor dense una vuelta por New Fantasy que queda como a 300 metros. La calidad es la misma, los precios mucho menores y los cuartos mejores. En Zona Blue se ponen en varas con uno por ser tico, pues a los gringos les sacan facil un monton de plata entre propinas y demas tonteras que los ticos no pagamos pero los pobres gringos de brutos si lo hacen. Creanme gente; no se pierden de nada.

De acuerdo con southsider, tampoco es nada del otro mundo, si es cierto que hay chavalas guapas, pero tempoco son modelos de pasarela y ellos no te van a tratar igual porue de fijo un tico no va a derrochar la plata. No hay duda de que el chante es bonito pero tampoco vale la pena que te ignoen, solo por clavarla, que al final, en tras salas y por menos precios...ES LO MISMO

Yo si pude entrar en un par de ocasiones y coincido con los compas que no es la gran vara. Tal vez no llegue a ver a las mas tuanis o no se, pero por mi experiencia me parece un lugar con mas fama de la que se justifica. Si alguien no logra entrar a Zona Blue se puede ir tranquilo a New Fantasy y con suerte le va mejor en todo sentido.

solo he ido dos veces.. la primera con dos miembros de TS.. y no pudimos entrar.. recuerdo que nos dijeron que habia ena fiesta privada y jalamos.. terminamos en Pantera ese dia.. buena la fiesta!!! si no, preguntenle a l amigo de la 5ta dimención!

Yo entre una vez me atendi por angie muy rica sinceramente, al mae que dice que le dijeron que habia una fiesta privada eso son varas eso lo dicen por ser ticos nosotros los ticos no les interesamos como clientes

Interesting post regarding the feelings of the locals about ZB. Where did you get this?

they are basically saying that it is a place for foreigners, that pamela is the superstar there, it is very expensive, and several people responded saying that they were told that there is a private party going on when they went in there. sounds like they think they were turned away as locals that they consider undesirable

I can't blame ZB for that.If you have ever been to a tico mp like those on Calle 6 or New Fantasy on weekends, you would see why.They come in packs and literally just stand there.Blocking entrance ways and gawking. Even the wealthier ticos would never buy a drink in ZB. And they would rudely expect a discount.You don't want to turn a finer high end establishment into a tico place.I often thought ZB sets prices just to keep ticos and cheap bastards away. Seems like a good strategy to me.

I was thinking on doing the full translation today with more time but DDream just about summed it up. In short that is what it says.

I could only add the fact that the some of the opinions mention that only tourists can go there because only that group gets to pay overinflated tips and other surcharges that no tico would.

They're pretty much saying that the place is really expensive, that $5 for a beer is ridiculous, etc. I can speak from both sides because even though i was born in the states i've been living a good chunk of my life in CR and my parents are from here, so i'm both a tico and a gringo. Some of the ticos that visit MP's are never going to go to ZB because of the prices, and because they can find cheaper sex elsewhere (they wouldn't mind having to pay less for mediocre quality), but some of us go there regularly and don't think the price for the girls is too high. I think that the drinks are expensive, but every time i go i pay for at least a couple of beers 'cause I like the atmosphere and think it's also a good place to hang out before choosing your Phuck of the afternoon.

I agree with that, and it's a semi-subconscious reason I go to ZB. I honestly don't care for the Tico places. I love ZB's atmosphere, it's a great place to hang out during the day. The drink prices don't really bother me, since I only drink beer and not much at that. Now, it's a little different when buying seven tequila shots for the girls, but anything to get a party started.
