Planning a vacation to a resort near PDC and I was hoping to get advice/tips on finding sensual massage places for cheap and won't rob you! Anybody been there, done that? What to watch for/ watch out for? Massages at the resort are $$$ and offer no happiness (or DO they??)

Been going to Playa del Carmen for many years, but never to a massage place there.
Every time me & my family go we enjoy the massages on the beach for $20 Us for an hr.
If you walk down 5th Ave, im sure you’ll run into someone trying to sell you drugs or set you up with a girl or boy. Maybe ask those guys, but i did see quite a few massage places there which I never tried.
It never used to be that bad until a few years ago when I believe the Cartel moved in.

Use to go to the Mayan to vacation every year from 2008 to 2015ish. The last few years going there, just hung out on the resort and didn't venture to far (Playa Del Carmen or Tulum). Heard rumours and read things about the nefarious goings on in the Mayan. Gangs slowly infiltrating.

But on the first few trips there, would venture into Playa in the evening to sample the nightlife. I must have braver in my younger years. That place is so dark at night. Could have changed by now.....most tourists would go during the day to shop and walk around and than high tail it out of there before it got dark.

Only time I was ever solicitated there was ironically during the day. Walking down the many crowded vendor streets and this middle aged seniorita popped out from one of the doorways and asked me if I wanted a massage to relieve my stress.

I was totally caught off guard and just shook her off. But she looked discretely attractive. I am guessing her studio was in one of those older buildings...upstairs? I imagine there are places a guy can seek out fun but I didn't see it advertised on any neon sign. Ha! I heard that a lot of new condos have popped up in Playa, so maybe more $$$ around?

Only been to Dominican once and stayed on resort in Punta Cana. There it is more in the open. If a guy was brave enough to venture out to the small town Bavaro, adjacent to the resort I was staying at you could find fun! Again it is very dark and going to one of their girlie bars....kept reminding myself I was just there to relax and get a tan. After about day 3 of my stay, they wouldn't let any cabs in/out of the resort after dark. Security was wise to the moving of "ladies" from the resort towns into the resort for fun. They said it was the Russian tourists.

While there, I inquired about a day trip to one of the bigger towns/ cities to tour around. It was $100 American and you got a lunch. The fellow (tour guide) I talked to told me he knew all the spots wink wink. I declined in fear of me getting out of country. Ha! Definately have to be adventurous!

That's what got me interested- the resort we stay at offers beach massages, too, but they're $200/hr.

Vannessa Gold is semi legit.. some girls let you leave happy and the massage is good. I have no names for you though.
The are many please on 5th that have massage but its a coin toss whether the place is private or just a curtain between you and the next guy....also lots of FS places..just search Playa del carmen incognito mode...though mexican FS places are kind of sketchy when you cheap out...also just like every city, ask your cabbie!!!! they will even wait out front. ...wish I could offer more details but I really don't know the names of the places.

as far as I can tell the bulk of the massage industry in PDC are ones that come to your hotel but that doesn't work for the big resorts.

as for safety...think of it as like downtown in any city. safe most of the time but don't turn down a dark street late at night...and be aware of your surrounding walking into a massage place. you wouldn't just go to a random LL hook up without making sure it feels right. same goes for PDC

as for the expensive resort spas...I have wondered myself...I was at one on the other coast. super high end and the LG received an ever so slight brush from her fingertips. but my cash was in the locker (you walk to the massage room in a robe)...my next plan, if the LG contact ever happens again, is to ask the girl to hand me my robe for "checking the phone "purposes and she will see many bills in the pocket when i am grabbing the phone.

That's a really bad idea in Mexico....never show how much you have with you. Just go in prepared with how much you are willing to spend and be open with her.....they have heard it all before. It's not something new for them.

BTW i believe most of the tents set up on the beach also have a studio close by. 5th ave is close to the beach where you can find pretty much everything.
Like usernametaken said, it used to be a lot safer & family friendly until about 3 or so years ago when they started approaching you for drug sales.
I have around 250 weeks of timeshare left for the Hilton there which i bought when they first opened & a year later changed it to adults only LOL. Always stayed across the street which changed names 3 times now to the Wyndham & is now adults only too.

I was in PDC 2 years ago. Stayed at a resort and I agree the massage spa rate there was quite high so i declined. I opted for the beach massage which was $20 US and done by a man. A lean yet strong one. I wasn't looking for happy so didn't mind. Felt safer to be in a public place in my mind than to take a chance of getting robbed or some shit in a parlor or questionable spa

I was in a resort place and the hotel massage was $$$. I used Google to find a place in the local town. Massage was a 10+ for 1/3 the hotel price. No HE available. The room was 3rd world, the hotel would have been all modern.

My two cents only, just came back from Cabos, heading down again next month. My apology if PDC is completely different. At Cabos Nov 2023, hotel spa where I was was $250US/hr no HE. Higher end (clean with showers) massage places close to the marina is $60/hr to $100/hr (depends of the type of finish you are looking for); my best session as a 90 minute massage with a BJ finish form an absolute sweetheart for $100. Lower end places further inland starts at $30/hr; I saw a few $20 or $30 places, ladies are well over the hill, didn't try.

Unless the streets are so bad that you don't want to leave the resort, the value is so much better outside. These places also start pretty early, no need to wait for sun down. Same with outcalls vs. incall escorts, huge price difference.

Was in Bali several years ago. Hotel massage $200 US, luxury spa no happiness. Across the street $8 plus a small tip for HE. I have not yet come across a resort where the massage was reasonably priced, definitely no HE. Doesn't mean they don't exist, but maybe one day I'll see a unicorn.

Was in Cancun shortly before covid and the resort massage was $120 USD per hour, I imagine with inflation it's closer to $200 now, seems like a crazy ripoff.

I would love to go on another Mexico trip and try out all the local massage places, I just need to find someone to go with.

The average cost is 300 to 500 pesos for a quality session.

The resort spas are not good value and usually poor service. It's best to find a specialty spa that is 1 or 2 blocks off the beach. Definitely stay away from the beach tent massage places unless you need a deep sand exfoliation session. LOL.
