AURORA – A 28-year-old man is in custody after allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl under the guise that he was training to be a massage therapist, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.
The suspect, identified as Robert Richard Beattie Smith, is being held without bond in the Arapahoe County Jail.
The victim came into contact with Smith after she said on a social network that she had lost her job and was looking for a new one. The suspect called her, according to police, and said that he was a massage therapist in training and that he needed to perform a few hours of practical massage therapy to finish his schooling.
Smith allegedly told the victim that he'd pay her if she let him give her a massage.
The victim then made arrangements to have Smith come to her home so that he could give her and her 21-year-old sister massages, according to police.
When the suspect arrived at the home, he allegedly sexually assaulted the victim as the massage was in progress. Police say the victim did not say anything in protest because she was so traumatized by the incident.
Following the assault of the younger sister, police say Smith gave the 21-year-old a massage, but stopped when she protested after he started to touch her in inappropriate ways.

The victims were able to give police a description of the suspect and his vehicle, as well as his phone number and social network information. This, however, did not yield any information into the suspect's identity, according to police.
Detectives from the Sex Crimes and Crimes Against Child Units took over, and were able to tentatively identify the Smith, according to police. Police contacted him by phone, and were later able to lure him to a location where he could be taken into custody.
Aurora detectives later discovered that Smith had a warrant for his arrest in California for a similar crime. That warrant was issued on July 15.
Police believe there could potentially be other victims, and encourage anyone with information to call Aurora Police at 303-739-6153.
