Hi froggy
If a client presented with MND to me this would be my proposed procedure:
Assuming they have discussed receiving complementary therapies with their medical advisor.
Complete a very comprehensive consultation form. Due to MND having many secondary health issues including muscle fatigue/pain, incontinence, bowel issues, breathing difficulties etc I would ask the client to order their list of symptoms by severity and would test each reflex area during the evaluation to see how strong the reaction is and mark the consultation form accordingly.
Proposed Treatment: (Appreciated the first treatment may be more condensed as it is more of an exploratory treatment. And all routines are open to change.)
1. Usual opening routine.
2. Evaluation routine – spending time to assess the clients stated areas of issue.
3. I would do a basic nervous system routine including the head/brain and spinal cord for the CNS and then a firm all over massage to both feet to cover the PNS. I would tend to work from the spine outwards (medial to lateral) on both dorsal and planter aspects, due to my intent of following the pathways of the PNS.
4. I would then concentrate on the particular reflexes that showed up in the initial evaluation in conjunction with the clients requirements. I would not cover all secondary reflexes in one treatment as this may overwhelm the client and also not allow me to work thoroughly enough.
5.I would always end the treatment phase of the routine concentrating on the respiratory system (lungs).
6.I would complete a ‘cleansing routine’ including spine x5, large colon, bladder-kidneys, liver, spleen, dorsal lymphatics and solar plexus and light massage to finish.
As with all diseases I would always maintain an updated treatment plan that the client is fully aware of and has access to.
HTH and may give you some pointers in answer to your question.
