A Massachusetts masseur is accused of forcing a customer to "touch him inappropriately" at a spa earlier this month, and police say the business may also face administrative penalties. Guangyo Gao, 22, of Shrewsbury, is accused of indecent assault and battery of a person over 14, according to a statement issued by the Auburn Police Department. Officers began investigating after dispatchers received multiple 911 calls on Oct. 6 about a disturbance at Health Spa, located at 385 Southbridge St. One of the callers, a woman who was identified as the victim, told responding officers that she paid for a massage at the business. "Auburn Police Detectives were contacted and determined that the masseur forced the victim to touch him inappropriately," the department's statement said. "Due to the sensitive nature of the facts discovered by the responding officers, specific details are being withheld from this post."According to police, the spa originally received its business certificate in 2020 and renewed it in April. The department said it was in contact with the state's Department of Licensure "for potential administrative action."
