A fifth woman has been arrested in an operation targeting multiple Laredo massage parlors operating as illicit massage businesses offering sexual favors to clients.
Laredo police identified the arrestee as a 45-year-old woman. She was arrested on Tuesday afternoon at a massage parlor business by the 9100 block of McPherson Road.
The woman was charged with massage therapy license/owner violation and prostitution, both Class B misdemeanors.
The case unfolded on Oct. 16, when LPD’s Special Victims Unit collaborated with the Compliance Response Team, the Narcotics/Vice Unit and the Special Operations Group to conduct an operation at four locations.
Authorities went to the 1700 block of East Del Mar Boulevard, the 200 block of West Del Mar Boulevard, the 7900 block of McPherson Road and the 9100 block of McPherson Road.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation also assisted in the investigation.
As part of the investigation, police arrested four women on the charges of massage therapy license/owner violation (license required) and massage therapy license/owner violation (practice by massage establishment, both Class B misdemeanors.
Two women were additionally charged with prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor.
