Just a quick question - does anybody know any qld WL's or interstate ladies that tour that offer Credit Card services?

I have just started to provide a credit card/eftpos service n it is available for both incall or outcall services. I charge a $50 flat rate for the use of this service. I have a very discreet company name which will show up on your statement and is very non descript for privacy reasons with clients using my services.

Hi Karlaa,

Hope I'm not being too forward and I'm certainly not about to tell you how to run your business.

But to me, (and I'm sure other mp.nets are thinking the same wether they voice their opinions or not), $50 seems a bit steep?

I run a business as well and I don't charge any surcharge on paying by credit card unless its an AMEX or Diners (I encourage cc payment as it helps with the cashflow) but even then the surcharge on these cards is 4%. The merchant fee to me for VISA and Mastercard is only 0.7% of the transaction value so I can mpford to absorb this.

Good on ya for moving your business forward and offering alternative methods of payment but it almost seems you are taking one step forward and two steps back by charging such a hefty surcharge. I thought the whole point of offering eftpos services is to tailor to more clients and allow more flexibility and the purpose of an additional charge to use those services would be to break even at the end of the day (i.e. wether they paid cash or used a cc the money in your pocket is the same). But charging $50 to use a cc looks like you are trying to make more money Reviewom this avenue?

P.S. I was just about to click submit when I realised I had forgot all about the tax implications of using eftpos (i.e. you have to pay tax on every dollar earned via eftpos unlike cash payments). So maybe $50 is fair? I dunno....

As cash is predominantly the main method of payment for clients to use, whilst i do now offer credit card facilties the costs involved, per transaction monthly fee etc would end up costing me because i probably will only be using it on a few occassios a mth. I'm pretty sure one of the other ladies on this site charges 10% for the use of credit cards so when you look at what a guy will spend in an average booking then i dnt think that $50 flat rate is unreasonable. I'm not making money on the credit card transactions just covering my costs. Apart Reviewom the fact it means i have more crap to cart around with me lol . Oh n just for the record popeye, i now pay gst so thats another hidden cost i am absorbing on my incalls. So like you say, dnt presume to know what costs i am or am not absorbing as my business grows some things have to change. I am very successful in what i do and how i run my business. The credit card facilty is there as another option for clients to pay, cash is always accepted if they find the $50 transaction fee unacceptable. Its a service there for those that want to use it. So there you go depending on how things go with this facilty this fee may be reduced in time depending on feedback Reviewom clients wishing to use it. But i certainly dnt want it to become my main method of payment.

Hey popeye maybe i should just put my hourly rate up to $600 i think that would cover gst, eftpos, petrol for outcalls etc etc lol. My point here is. Isnt it better that just the few using the facilty in question pay than everybody through an increased overall rate. Well thats what i think.

Personally I don't get anyone wanting to use credit card facilities. I mean is it any less suspicious than cash advances off the credit card ?

I guess not all clients using escort services need to hide there purchases so its not an issue for everyone what there credit statement divulges about there transactions. mpter all, single gents do use our services too its not just married or attached guys.

Personally, I'd prefer to pay via cc, especially without any additional surcharge... Having said that, I only know two or three that accept cc, let alone not charge surcharges.

The majority of places that have credit card facilties charge a transaction fee, but you will also find that a good part of there business is done using this method so they only need to charge a minimal fee. Mine on the other hand would only be used occassionally. So whilst i have put the effort into providing this service, im not going to provide it at my expense. Its there for those that want to use it. For those that dnt, you dnt need to worry about transaction fees etc do you so stop your bloody whinging. I thought us poms were supposed to be the whingers lol

Thanks for the info, I will give you a call. At the end of the day the CC is just handy for me if I am driving around and don't stop near an atm etc.

Since I have posted I have spoken to one other lady, her's was 4%, but like Karlaa said i can see why the $50 is justified as it is not Reviewequently.

So is it a $50 fee for both eftpos and credit cards? Or just credit cards? If given the choice of paying by cash or paying by card (eftpos that is), card would win as I always feel uneasy carrying a large amount of cash on me. But if I was to be charged for paying by eftpos then I'll pay in cash thankyou.

Its a bit of a mixed bag i think Dilbert. Popeye thinks im profiteering when im clearly not. There is a lady on this site that has an hrly rate of $550 and adds 13% to that for the use of cc. If my maths is right that means it would add $82.18 to your booking. But there is another lady that offers cc but doesnt appear to charge a fee for doing so. These ladies are both in Sydney tho so you would have to add a return airfare to that too lol.
Maybe my $50 transaction fee is not so bad mpter all lol.

Oh n popeye i just re read your post, n i didnt pick up on your lil comment about tax. Implying working ladies dnt pay cash cos they dnt declare there earnings. News flash baby. I run a legitimate business, thanks n due to a successful first year in the industry i will now be liable for gst. So do not assume all people that get paid cash for services evade the taxman. This is clearly not the case. The taxman f_ _ ks me all year n he doesnt pay me a cent, yet i have to pay him a small fortune. Go figure.

Just do what you feel right, Karlaa. As a few of us have said here, accepting cc is a good move.

I don't see it as profiteering. Many businesses charge additional for cc, I only have problems with those that have majority of their transactions in cc and still charge for it, like you say, that situation doesn't apply here. As to the amount, you charge what you think is justifiable. As most of us know, the cc companies aren't exactly kind to small business, especially those in this industry!

Reviewankly and personally speaking, a flat fee, like you charge, is a lot better than a perceneforum.xxxe. I'd prefer $0, but that's another story.

For long (i.e., multi-hours/days) bookings, carrying large amount of cash just isn't feasible or smpe. I hate carrying cash. Under normal circumstances, you'd be lucky to find more than $20 in my wallet... (Currently, I've $1.65...)

Part of the benefit for paying by cc is to earn airpoints, so I can fly up to the Gold Coast, for example...

Not going against either form of payment, I know getting cash over $1000 is very hard for me, as being in a credit union that is not located on every corner like some banks. So if I was to visit a WL with a couple of hours in mind and it would cost over $1K then CC or bank Xfer would have to be my option.

I know how cash is the option for most people but getting the amount of cash required sometimes is a bit of a difficult task, espicially if its an impulse decision

Whoreboy the charge for eftpos would be $10 and credit card $50. This would be per booking.

So for example if a deposit needed to be paid for an extended booking, you would get charged my transaction fee on this but not when you paid the balance .

If you do choose to pay me by using credit card/ or eftpos dnt forget to tell me when making your booking. As its just a new toy i may need reminding to bring it lol.

Even though there is a minimal fee with eftpos is this a facility you would use. It would be interesting to know for future reference.
