Average # of hours for Chair gig?

I wondering if someone could give me a heads up on the average # of hours you spend giving massage at an average chair massage gig (versus doing chair at a convention, fair, etc.).We're starting to receive instruction on chair massage (5, 10, 15, and 20 minute sessions)(with each timing receiving more and different types of strokes). I know I'm new to the body mechanics requirements for chair and that I'll be able to endure longer stints, but the two hours in class last night was a tad bit tiring.Any insight will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Any time I've done chair massage, it's never been for less than 8 hours. I'm sure it's different for other people though. I have never done an event where I was paid by the hour, rather by the client. So there was only one time that I was actually doing massage the entire time, and that was for about 10 hours. Extremely tiring, and it was my first chair gig, but it got me used to the body mechanics REAL quick! You'll get used to it, and if you talk to them or other people before and after each client, it makes the time go by faster, and you don't seem as tired. Heh, well, at least until you get in your car to sit down or get home, lol.

The longest I've done was 5h & 45min.

OK.. that was way too much for me.  I did that once per month for about a year.  I can't even imagine going an 8h stint!  

Mine are always back to back for 10 min. sessions. (5 massages per hour).

I still do the back to backs weekly, but the longest now is 4h. (That's kind of extraneous info, but who knows, maybe ot helps).

Personally, I think 3 hours back to back of 10 min. sessions is plenty for me.

I don't particularly care for doing chair massage, but it has it's benefits.

I have two steady chair massage jobs.

At one I give 20 minute massages with 5 minute breaks in between.

The other is 10 minute massages with 5 minute breaks in between.

I am at both places for 3 hours.  I am paid per massage.

The breaks work more for me as a mini time buffer, since clocks are different, people can't always get off the phone right away, ect.  

But it is nice to be able to get a chance to use the bathroom or eat a snack if needed.

Like Pete, I love doing chair massage. I take about a 10-minute break every 2-3 hours, gotta have that nicotine, lol. My sessions are usually anywhere between 5-15 minutes. I don't like doing long stretches of time as I like to get my hands on a lot of people. I don't depend on chair massage for income, yet I use it mainly for getting new clients. I only charge $1/minute, just to keep that part simple. I would do it for free for marketing, but if there's a price on it, it gives it more value, and if I can do the same work and get paid for it, I might as well get paid, eh? I am SO over doing free chair massage...

Thanks. We're just learning the routines now. Easier than I thought but still somewhat strenuous. I'm starting to incorporate some techniques into the 'office' massages I give at my temp assignment to a few women.Seforum.xxxg, I'll probably end up giving a few free sessions.Thanks all for your input.

Last Saturday I did an Event and it was from 12pm-7pm, but I had a 10 minute break after an 1 1/2 and 1/2 hour after 2 hours and another 10 minute after 2 1/2 hours of massaging chair massage.

It was quite profitable, tiring and very much a blessing!!!

I make sure my team has a 5-10 min break every 2-3 hrs.

I SOOO enjoyed my experience at the event on the 3rd and they have asked me to come back next year.

That is a Thrill!!!

As well my Marketing manager & My Precious Wife was such a Blessed Help and There was Much contact information that got out there as well.

I'm happy with what transpired through being part of this experience!!!

We have a two hour minimum.

15 Minute break for a 3 hour event.

2nd 15 minute break for a 4-5 hour event

2 15s and a 30 meal break for 6+ hours.
