BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - For those with chronic pain, Advanced Bodywork and Massage has just opened at a new location in the capital city.
Now located at 1929 North Washington Street in Suite J, between Rustic Petals and Papa John’s, Advanced Bodywork and Massage hosted an open house to show off the new space.
Owner Jon Schauer said they will provide more options for massage therapy and pain management to the public. He says they plan to implement wellness classes and better assessments for clients.
“Massage therapy helped change my life. Sometimes we feel stressed, we feel locked up, and we don’t feel like we can function. So, for me, just as an individual, massage therapy was very helpful to help me ease stress, to help me just function in stressful times,” said Schauer.
Schauer also leases a room to stretch therapist, intuitive bodyworker, and certified doula, Alyse Raynewell, for the separate services she offers as the owner of Indigo Body Balance. The two work alongside each other to provide relief for more clients.
“Often if there’s some issue that I can’t get resolved or I’m not seeing the results that I want to, I’ll ask Jon to come in and vice versa. That’s one of our favorite things is being able to work together, that’s why he asked me if I wanted to come and work here at the suite and move in together and work cooperatively. I couldn’t say ‘yes’ fast enough,” said Raynewell.
The pair share a love of helping people relieve their pain.
“My favorite thing is seeing people sit up off the table and go, ‘I can move... and it doesn’t hurt!’ The incredulity and the relief on their faces,” said Raynewell.
They say they hope the expansion of their space and services will allow them to help more people than before.
The new facility will also provide an infrared sauna.
